Staying relevant on social media does not have to be as big of a hurdle as we make it out to be. We all know what we are “supposed” to do for our business, but when the inbox is overflowing, survival mode kicks in. We encourage you to take a good, hard look at your own business and make sure you’re making the decisions that are best for you in the long run. Which means staying active on social media even when our schedules are crazy. As business owners we get so wrapped up working in our business (seeing clients, answering emails, paying invoices) that we forget that we need to work on our business (creating systems, learning, and most importantly dreaming).
Working on your business is how you grow. Growth can be hard and growing pains are REAL, but it’s better to be uncomfortable than stagnant. Don’t let social media take a back seat when you’re busy! Intentional social media management is the easiest way to get your message out to a larger audience and it allows you to convert followers to clients. If you want to be in control of your own Instagram and other social media accounts, but you have NO idea where to start then this guide is for you!
The Basics:
Stay Connected:
Be Consistent:
Consistency is key. When, what and how often you post matters to your audience. Your audience likes to hear from you! The worst thing you can do for your social media account is not post consistently. It is the easiest way to lose followers.
Watch Your Tone:
Are you clear on what you are offering? What exactly do you do? It might be very clear to you, but is it clear to your potential clients? No matter how much money you spend, if your mission isn’t easily understood, then no one will listen. If you’re not clear with your messaging then your potential clients won’t have a clear understanding. Our suggestion? Make it EASY. Show people exactly what you have to offer and make it easy for them to get in touch. We recommend not directly selling to your audience in every post.
Interact with your Audience:
Dedicate time each week to interacting on social media (liking and commenting). It is an easy way for you to pop up in someone’s feed and for you to make connections.
Plan it Out
Take back your time! Using a planning app like Planoly will give you the ability to dive back into your business. You can plan and even autopost your social media posts. We recommend spending a couple of hours at the beginning of the month planning everything out and then setting it up to post! You can use our referral code HERE!
